General rule of thumb for what a season start/top looks like- each season starts (starting with practices) in early/mid-April once the field conditions are stable (ex: dried out) and temperatures are 45F and above.  Regular season will conclude early/mid-June.

If your player(s) is selected for an All-Stars team/Tournament play (for Minors/machine pitch through Senior divisions only), that season/those games will commence after regular season with games occurring throughout late June and July.  See the Google Calendar on 'Schedule & Planning' tab (previous season time frame) for an idea of when certain All-Star divisions may play.  Actual dates for current year- TBD.

New to LL and not sure about equipment/attire needs for your player?

SCLL will provide each team with league owned catchers gear, (4) batting helmets and a bucket of baseballs/softballs.  Each player is encouraged to bring/play with their own equipment so long as it meets all LL regulations.  See the Little League links at the very bottom of this website for equipment information/requirements.  *Used bats and gloves may be available (left behinds from past seasons) for use by request with our league Equipment Manager.  *Minor (pitching machine) divisions- league issued batting helmets with at least one with a face protection cage(s).  Use of batting helmet face protection/cages during batting in all other divisions is at parent/guardian discretion.  During fielding in the minor divisions (machine pitch- both BB and SB), a helmet with face protection is required for pitching positions only.

Common player provided equipment- fielding glove, bat, cleats (shoes are ok, but your player may slip/have limited ground grip), batting gloves (optional- player discretion), mouth guard (per parent/guardian discretion).  Fielder's masks are not required by LL International, but are encouraged in all divisions to protect the players eyes, mouth, face while playing defense.  *Bat requirements are outlined in the "bat information" link at the very bottom of this website.

Uniform- SCLL will provide regular season jerseys, hats (for boys) & visors (for girls), and game socks.  Players will need to provide game pants (color- TBD as a team).  During practices- athletic pants are recommended for leg protection (parent/guardian discretion for their player).  Registered Head coaches, assistant coaches, and team helpers will be provided a regular season jersey and hat (for men) & visor (for woman).
